The King Cloud® Premiere Recliner is designed to provide effortless comfort and intelligent motion at the touch of a button. If you’re experiencing any concerns with the footrest or headrest motion, this guide will help you troubleshoot and resolve them quickly—so you can get back to relaxing in style.


No Motion in the Footrest or Headrest?

If your recliner isn’t responding, start with these checks:

1. Check the Power Connection

  • Make sure the recliner is plugged into a working outlet and the switch is turned on.

  • Switch the power off and then back on to prompt a basic reset.

2. Inspect the Transformer

  • Locate the transformer (power pack) and check for a green indicator light—this confirms the unit is receiving power.

  • If the light is off, try a different outlet or power board.

3. Check the Wiring

  • Inspect the cable connections at the back of the recliner.

  • Ensure all plugs are firmly seated and free from damage or wear.

4. Verify the DMC (Dual Motor Control) Status

  • Look underneath the recliner for a blue flashing light on the DMC.

  • A flashing light indicates the system is powered and ready to operate.


Footrest Not Opening or Closing?

This may be caused by safety sensors detecting interference. Here’s what to check:

1. Look for Obstructions

  • Ensure there are no objects blocking the footrest’s path—especially near the infrared sensors located between the front legs.

2. Check the Surface Below

  • Rugs, carpet folds, or uneven flooring can trigger the sensors.

  • Smooth out any lumps or remove rugs temporarily to test function.


Resetting the Recliner

If your recliner still isn't responding, follow these steps to reset the system:

Step 1: Power Off the Recliner

Turn off the recliner at the wall and leave it unplugged for at least 15 minutes.

Step 2: Discharge the System

While the recliner is powered off, run your hand over the control buttons to release any residual electrical charge.

Step 3: Perform a Reset

  • Press and hold buttons 1 and 4 (the first and last buttons on the control panel) for 30 seconds.

  • Let the recliner reset without interruption—it may return to its default position.

Step 4: Additional Reset Step

  • Press and hold button 3 (the middle button) for another 30 seconds to complete the process.
